The Price of a Fat Lip

Have you ever been thrown under the bus? – figuratively of course. Perhaps, it happened with an employer you worked for. You worked hard, sacrificed your time and even your health, and then when you were finished being used, you found yourself under the bus.

Perhaps, it was on a sports team. You came to all the practices, invested in learning all you could about the plays, procedures and those whom you played with. Then one day you found yourself under the bus.

By now you have heard the horrific story about three of our most elite men from the navy seals being thrown under the bus. If you haven’t heard by now, this is what happened.

Navy SEALs have secretly captured one of the most wanted terrorists in Iraq — the alleged mastermind of the murder and mutilation of four Blackwater USA security guards in Fallujah in 2004. And three of the SEALs who captured him are now facing criminal charges. . . .

The three, all members of the Navy’s elite commando unit, have refused non-judicial punishment — called an admiral’s mast — and have requested a trial by court-martial.
Ahmed Hashim Abed, whom the military code-named “Objective Amber,” told investigators he was punched by his captors — and he had the bloody lip to prove it.

Now, instead of being lauded for bringing to justice a high-value target, three of the SEAL commandos, all enlisted, face assault charges and have retained lawyers.

The detainee was turned over to Iraqi authorities, to whom he made the abuse complaints. He was then returned to American custody. The SEAL leader reported the charge up the chain of command, and an investigation ensued.

The source said intelligence briefings provided to the SEALs stated that “Objective Amber” planned the 2004 Fallujah ambush, and “they had been tracking this guy for some time.”

The four Blackwater agents were transporting supplies for a catering company when they were ambushed and killed by gunfire and grenades. Insurgents burned the bodies and dragged them through the city. They hanged two of the bodies on a bridge over the Euphrates River for the world press to photograph.

Intelligence sources identified Abed as the ringleader, but he had evaded capture until September. But he complained that he received a bloody lip and with that complaint – all three seals are facing court-martial and jail time.

Let me see if I understand this – because quite frankly I do not. A master mind terrorist who killed four Americans, had their bodies burned, dragged through the streets and finally hung up as a trophy, was finally captured after evading capture. He was captured by the best of the best – Navy Seals. Somewhere along the way, Abed the terrorists got his lip bloodied and now three navy seals are looking at a possible court-martial.

This is another PC (political correct) moment that is literally bringing our nation to its ruin. Over in Florida, a person can receive a one-day suspension for participating in the “kick a Jew Day.” But if our brave men in the military capture a multi-murderer Islamic terrorist and give him a fat lip, their careers are not only finished, but as punishment, they will have to also do jail time.

Oh, I bet this just encourages young men and women to rush to join the military. I cannot imagine having your own government throw you under the bus just because the ENEMY GOT A FAT LIP! The logic and thinking in all this just gives me a headache.

We have two enemies we fighting against. One is internal – those who are Americans and liberal in their thinking, and who use PC as their weapon. Since using PC works so well here in America, our second enemy, those outside of America also have picked up on how cunning and intimidating PC is to Americans. Now they are using it and it seems to be working for our enemies.

Our enemies must look upon us as weak and pathetic. Folks, get ready for more mind-boggling, mental twisting brain aches to come. Because when the trial for the 9/11 terrorists begin in New York City, we are going to see not so much the terrorists on trial, but America will be on trial for the evils that it has done and how she deserved to have the judgment of 9/11.

Liberals hate the military and our president leads the march. He has taken months to fulfill a request to send more troops to Afghanistan. He does not like the word victory because it reminds him how humiliating it was for the Japanese to lose in WW2.

How much longer will we be able to say that America is still the greatest country on this planet? Unless we get a change in leadership, the only direction America will be going is down.

We have only one Savior and that is Jesus! I thank God for His Son, and knowing God's character of love, mercy and slowness to anger, I trust Him that justice will be done in the end.

That said, I nevertheless grieve for our Nation and what we have become and are becoming. The worst painful times are yet ahead for our Nation, unless we turn from our present course. I pray that our nation and people change our way of living to what is the truth. There is only one truth and that is God's Word.

On page A-20, The Honolulu Advertiser, November 26, 2009, commentary by Victor David Hanson, speaks of what we can expect in America in the not-to-distant future because the worst is still lies ahead.
