The Bible says that we Christians are no longer under the law. but under grace (Rom. 6:14). Does this mean that we ignore the law of God? Not at all.
Here are six functions of the Law of God (1 Tim. 1:8) we should not ignore:
1. The law reveals the character of God (Zeph. 3:5).
2. The law reveals our own sinfulness (Rom. 7:7).
3. The law serves as a school master (tutor) to drive us to
Christ (Gal. 3:24).
4. The law functions as a restraint against sin (1 Tim. 1:9).
5. The law prompts people to sin (Rom. 7:7-9).
6. The law reveals what is pleasing to God (John 14:15).
